A spectacular fundraiser showcasing local musical talent has raised more than £6,000 for two Guildford charities. One Winter's Night is an annual event staged by GT Live Sessions, and it once again sold out the auditorium at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre. The event is organised and hosted by Guildford musician and promoter Gavin Thomas, raising money this year for the cancer ward at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, and the independent children's charity Challengers.

"It was an honour to be invited back by Jamie Barber, the theatre Director at the Yvonne Arnaud, and we knew we had to build on the success of last year's wonderful concert," Mr Thomas said.

"I was thrilled to get sponsorship this year from the team at KP Snacks Ltd, and this enabled us to donate 100% of everything we made from ticket sales directly to our two amazing local causes. We had ten outstanding acts performing through the evening, and the atmosphere in the packed theatre was truly extraordinary. I'd like to thank everyone who helped support the event - it's a wonderful feeling to be able to promote local live music on a proper stage in our gorgeous local theatre, and make thousands of pounds for local charities at the same time."

Gavin will be back with his charity music festival "One Summer's Day" in July, and GT Live Sessions are already planning the next One Winter's Night event for January 2018.

The time has come, and we can now confirm the line-up for the next One Winter's Night event.

This is the second of these annual concerts, and it will be taking place on the glorious main stage of Guildford's Yvonne Arnaud Theatre on Saturday 14th January 2017. The event is produced by GT Live Sessions and sponsored by the lovely folk at KP SNACKS.

I'm thrilled to confirm that the line-up will consist of the following local heroes:

Please note that there is no "headline act" at these events - all artists have equal billing.

With these major music events, GT Live Sessions endeavours to raise as much money as possible for charities and local causes. For each festival and concert we pick a department or an appeal at Guildford's Royal Surrey County Hospital to support, alongside a local or national charity. The total amount raised through our fundraising for that event is then split equally between the two causes.

I'm so pleased that One Winter's Night '17 will be supporting Onslow Ward (the Oncology and Haematology Inpatient Ward) at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, which is in desperate need for external funding for vital new equipment. We will also be raising money for Challengers - this is an inspiring independent children's charity that, for more than 30 years, has developed and delivered inclusive play and leisure for disabled children and young people across Surrey, Hampshire and the surrounding areas. I'm hugely proud to be supporting these two wonderful causes with this event.

The first One Winter's Night concert in January '16 raised a glorious £5,000 that we split between Shooting Star Chase and the new Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit at the Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. I'm confident that we'll be able to beat this total with One Winter's Night '17, and I've set our fundraising target at £6,000. Because of the invaluable support from KP Snacks, we will be donating 100% of all money raised through ticket sales, raffle and donations, and I'm confident that this new target is achievable.

The last of the tickets are on sale NOW from the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre Box Office on-line here.

You can also get tickets in person from the theatre, or by phone (01483 44 00 00).

If you can't make it to the event on Saturday, then PLEASE help us by making your donation HERE - it will be added to our final total ... we're aiming for £6,000. x
